Dan Appelrouth - A Concert For Hunger

What do music and hunger have in common?  Not much, unless you count the growling of an empty stomach or the cries of a ravenous child as music.  But Dan Appelrouth, a retired rheumatologist, is aiming to change all that, putting his own musical talent to use to raise money to feed the  hungry of Atlanta.

Appelrouth has always had a passion for music.  Several years ago, when he became involved in the Atlanta Hunger Walk, his passion for social justice compelled him to make a personal commitment to help erase hunger in the  community.  Today, he has combined those passions, lending his singing voice to a CD and a concert to raise money for a fund he has established through the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, the Atlanta Hunger Relief Fund.

On Sunday, June 11, at 1:30 p.m., the community is invited to attend Appelrouth’s 2006 concert at the Pace Academy High School Fine Arts Center.  There is no charge for the concert.  Appelrouth will perform songs from his CD entitled, My Memories, which will be for sale, with proceeds going to Atlanta Hunger Relief Fund to benefit the Kosher Food Pantry and Moas Chitim.  Local entertainer Jerry Farber will act as celebrity emcee for the show.
