Triple Pink Foundation, Inc. Challenges Atlanta
To Play to Increase the Odds
Triple Pink Foundation, Inc., invites Atlantans to “play to increase the odds” at We Want A Cure, a Wii Game Tournament, Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 6:30pm at Strait’s Restaurant in midtown.
Proceeds from the not-for-profit’s inaugural fundraising event will help launch an educational workshop to spread awareness among college females about triple negative breast cancer and its prevalence in minority women and young women of all ages. Triple negative breast cancer is an aggressive sub-type of breast cancer that does not have a targeted therapy. According to one Emory University study, African-American women under 55 represent over 46% of all patients with triple negative breast cancer.
Participants will test their Wii skills and enjoy music and sports-themed gaming stations as they compete on teams and individually. In addition to earning bragging rights, participants can win a number of game station inspired prizes, such as sporting equipment and video games. Attendees also have the opportunity, through the silent auction, to bid on several high-end items, including a Sprint phone and Atlanta sporting event tickets.
We Want A Cure is made possible by the generosity of AirTran Airways, Sprint, Aaron’s, Inc., The PGA Golf Store, Strait’s Restaurant, and Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. – Exclusive Wii Gameroom Sponsor.
