Epstein In The News (Channel 2 News-WSB Atlanta):
Epstein Students Work At Atlanta Community Food Bank

Sixth grade students in Kendra Fabry’s advisory class at The Epstein School were engaging in service-learning as part of their year-long studies of hunger issues.

While they were there students unpacked, inspected, sorted and packed food in the Product Rescue Center of the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
The students also brought donations of food with them. Channel 2 News (WSB-Atlanta) was there and video taped the students for a news segment that aired May 5, 2009, as they worked to help feed the hungry at the Atlanta Food Bank.

As part of a caring community, service-learning is a great opportunity for Epstein students to go out into the local community, show they care and experience how great it feels to work together and make a difference.
Additionally, it is a meaningful educational experience that allows children to be a part of a growing national emphasis on youth serving their communities.
Epstein Middle Schoolers Carly Kaplan and Leah Greenberg were interviewed for the news segment. Special thanks to Diane Lechter and Lori Peljovich, the Epstein parents who volunteered to chaperone, help at the Food Bank and drive students.
